Rummage Sale: April 27 & 28

Quick Facts

What: Giant Rummage Sale
When: April 27th and 28th, St. Mary's Kerrisdale
Where: St. Mary's Kerrisdale, 2490 W 37th Avenue, Vancouver

We will be accepting donations starting Sunday, April 22nd.

Every year at the Rummage Sale, we raise money for the wider community and for extra parish projects through the generosity of many donors and volunteers.  The 2017 Rummage sale collected just over $20,000, before expenses!

This Year's Proceeds

This year, partial proceeds from the 2018 Rummage Sale will be used as follows:

  • We will repair and refurbish the Rectory in anticipation of the arrival of Rev. Lindsay Hills and her family.

  • We will commit $2,000 to the Refugee Committee to support our Refugee family and to help to cover their travel costs when they immigrated to Canada.

  • Internationally, through the PWRDF, we will contribute $2,000 to Send a Cow Uganda (SACU). SACU is an established and innovative charity established in 1988 to assist groups of subsistence farmers to overcome poverty and malnutrition through training in integrated livestock and agriculture, the provision of high quality seeds and livestock, and by strengthening communities to become self-reliant.

  • Finally, we will explore supporting women throughout the world as they start businesses, go to school, lead their communities and build strong families. We hope to commit $1,000 of the Rummage Sale proceeds to micro-lending through Kiva ( where borrowers use crowdsource funding to get the money they need to start or support very small businesses, often in impoverished countries. Once they repay the loan, we will be able to reinvest the money in other micro-businesses.
